Islamabad: There is a lot of uneasiness in Pakistan due to the news of the ongoing war between Iran, Israel, and America. Pakistan shares a more than 900-km border with Iran, and separatist activities are already underway in Balochistan province. In such a situation, Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif posted a long post on social media on Tuesday, in which he called this entire conflict a "Zionist plan." He says that all this is a conspiracy to surround Pakistan and weaken it.

Is an attack on Iran a conspiracy to make Pakistan a “vassal state”?

Khawaja Asif claimed that if Israel wins, a bigger plan will be implemented—Afghanistan, India and Iran (or the new regime there) will work together on a single agenda against Pakistan. Due to this, Pakistan's borders will become unsafe, it will be surrounded by enemies on all sides and the country will become a "vassal state." He wrote that Iran was ready to negotiate, but war was imposed anyway—and the purpose of this was to extend Israel's reach to Pakistan's border.

Why did he call Zionism a “threat to humanity”?

Assif said in the post that Zionism (the ideology of a Jewish homeland) has had a direct or indirect hand in every major trouble that has befallen the Islamic world—war, instability, etc.—since Israel was created in 1948. He alleges that this ideology is the main cause of major conflicts in the Muslim world and that even major global powers are "hostage" to it. He claimed that these people have been controlling the global economy for decades.

Why did you talk about “enemies” surrounding Pakistan?

He added Afghanistan (open war with Taliban), India (had a small war in May 2025) and Iran. There is already an insurgency in Balochistan, and Pakistan has often described it as an "Indian proxy" or an external conspiracy. Now Asif is saying that if Israel wins, then these three will together target Pakistan.

Why remind Muslim countries of unity and nuclear power?

Asif appealed to the 25 crore Pakistanis to forget political or religious differences and understand this "conspiracy" and recognize the intentions of "our permanent enemies." He reminded Pakistan's nuclear power—noting Nawaz Sharif's role in the 1998 nuclear test—and said the world recognized the strength of our military, which is defending against "Zionists." He prayed for Palestine, said, "May Palestine be free", and called for Muslim countries to unite—to face common challenges together.

This statement has come at a time when the Middle East is on fire due to US-Israel attacks on Iran – many big leaders, including Khamenei, were killed, and Iran fired drone missiles on more than 11 countries. Pakistan is feeling surrounded, and Asif's post reflects the same restlessness and old narrative—the world is encircling us, but we are strong.

The situation is changing rapidly; such statements may further increase regional tension. What do you think—is this just political rhetoric or a real threat?
